Ryan Seacrest Drops Price of Beverly Hills Estate to $74.5 Million

After eight months on the market, longtime American Idol host, radio personality, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians producer Ryan Seacrest has knocked $10.5 million off the listing price for his Beverly Hills estate. Purchased from Ellen DeGeneres in 2012 at $39 million, Seacrest was originally asking for a whopping $85 million. He still stands to make a major profit if it sells at its current asking price of $74.5 million.

The house is undeniably charming, massive but not quite overwhelming thanks to its understated accents—reclaimed teak beam flooring, elegant wood beams, and neutrals throughout. AD toured the home when it was under DeGeneres’s ownership in 2012, and the difference in decor between her taste and Seacrest’s taste speaks to the versatility of the property.

The pricey three-acre property includes five structures on its grounds: a 9,000-square-foot four bedroom six bathroom main house, two guest houses, and a separate three bedroom home. Beyond space to reside, the property includes a movie theater, a world-class gym, a spa, an underground garage, and a wood-fired pizza oven, too. The estate’s lush greenery and surplus of sunlight lends it a feeling of tranquility, even with the many amenities. The cherry on top? The pool house’s breathtaking view of L.A.

“It’s like a beautiful painting, you can’t help but notice its beauty,” realtor Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency told Mansion Global. “It's perfectly proportioned and it’s set in the middle of incredible gardens. It just has a great calming feeling to it.”

If Seacrest manages to fetch his new asking price, he'll certainly be in an elite group, but it won't be the priciest sale the neighborhood has ever seen. Last year, Jeff Bezos set a record when he paid $165 million for the famed Jack Warner Estate, which is also located in Beverly Hills.
