Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra will welcome the 2025-2026 season together with art lovers with the opening concert to be held at the Atatürk Cultural Center Türk Telekom Opera Hall on Friday, October 10, 2025, as part of the DenizBank concerts. In this special night, prepared with great excitement, two unforgettable works of classical music will be presented to music lovers. In the first part of the program, the Piano Concerto in G Major, written by Maurice Ravel in an elegant style adorned with the colors of jazz, will be performed. The concerto will offer the audience both an energetic and emotional musical experience with its structure that brings together virtuosity and lyricism. The second part of the concert will feature Johannes Brahms’ 4th Symphony, which is considered one of the peaks of symphonic literature. With its deep themes, dramatic structure and magnificent finale, this masterpiece of Brahms promises the audience a powerful musical journey. At the opening concert, the orchestra will be conducted by Italian conductor Antonio Pirolli, who has a special place on the İDSO stage with his long-standing collaboration, strong stage energy and elegant style. The soloist of the concert will be the famous Russian pianist Nikolai Lugansky, who is appreciated all over the world with his interpretations and has an important place in the international music arena with his deep musicality. This year, as in every season, İDSO will present both the masterpieces of world classical music and the works of our Turkish composers to the audience. This season, in which the orchestra will celebrate its 80th anniversary, will bring together these two lines in a strong balance, presenting a universal line with the works of great names of world music history such as Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel, Debussy and Tchaikovsky, while also making a special place for the leading composers of the Republic period such as Ulvi Cemal Erkin and Cemal Reşit Rey. This season, there will be valuable conductors and soloists from both Turkey and different countries of the world, as well as many virtuosos covering a wide range of soloists from piano to violin, from vocalists to wind instruments. Aiming to offer the audience a different color and a different understanding of interpretation in every concert, IDSO will offer an international perspective with its collaborations with artists from different geographies of the world, and will complement the spirit of the season with the mastery of Turkish artists on stage and their respectful stance that reflects our national identity.
