For the first time this year, İTHİB will organize two separate competitions, FutureBase International and FutureTech, under the Futuretex Istanbul brand. In the award-winning design competition where talents in the textile industry will compete; Tuvana Büyükçınar will be the competition coaching in the FutureBase category, and designer Özlem Süer in the FutureTech category. Stating that they aim to create value, İTHİB President Ahmet Öksüz said, “It is of great importance to raise the design power in Turkey to the next level in order for our sector, which is the 5th largest textile exporter in the world, to get a bigger share from global exports. We aim to increase our innovation capability in the technical textile sector in the FutureTech category, which will be held as part of our competition. Technical textiles is one of our most important sub-product groups in the goal of increasing value-added exports of the Turkish textile industry. In this context, we attach great importance to our competition where innovative ideas will be evaluated and brought into production. We see design as one of the key elements of value-added exports. We support our qualified young people who will work in the field of design. In this context, our fabric design competition, which we will hold this year under the FutureBase International brand, will be a source of inspiration for hundreds of designers.” İTHİB Vice President Fatih Bilici, who stated that it was organized for the first time this year, said, “The FutureTech category is actually an innovation and idea competition. With FutureTech, we aim to support innovative ideas and projects in the technical textile industry. While the FutureBase International competition mainly concerns students in the field of fashion design, FutureTech mostly concerns textile engineering students, academics, industrial design departments and startups. As ITHIB, we are happy to combine two different categories, which are important for our industry, under one roof. With our new competition, our goal will be to bring our new designers to the sector and innovative ideas to production, as it does every year.” that we motivate the young population we have as a country according to their interests, and develop their perception of design and innovation.
