Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA), which aims to provide international recognition, financial support and business support to fashion designers every year, has announced the finalist list of emerging designers who are entitled to take part in the FTA 2022 Awards in its fourth edition. There are four successful names from Turkey, who were invited as a guest country this year for the “Guest Country Award”, which was created to support young designers from developing countries. Burç Akyol, the founder of Les Benjamins, Bünyamin Aydın, the co-founder and creative director of Siedrés, Ceylin Türkkan Bilge, and the creator of Sudi Etuz, Şansım Adalı, will exhibit their designs to win the Guest Country Award with her brand bearing her own name.

The 24 finalists chosen by the FTA 2022 Advisory Board among emerging talents applying from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region will have the chance to receive one of the five FTA awards, in addition to the Guest Country Award. Tania Fares, FTA co-founder and co-chairman, said: “This year, more than 1,000 amazing talent applied from all over the MENA region. Since we founded FTA in 2018, our community has grown rapidly and we are proud to witness the journey of many Arab designers who have grown their brands.”

The finalists will present their work to the FTA jury on October 26, 2022 in Doha. The six finalists will be announced on the night of the FTA 2022 Awards.

This year’s Advisory Board members include Adam Baidawi, Alexander Fury, Bryan Boy, Carmen Busquet, Edgardo Osorio, Elizabeth Von Der Goltz, Erdem Moralıoğlu, Fabio Piras, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson featured, Gaia Repossi, Imruh Asha, Mary Alice Malone, Nina Garcia, Olivier Theyskens, Patti Wilson, Pierre M’Pele, Piergiorgio Del Moro, Saif Mahdhi, Sarah Andelman, Sara Maino, Sofia Guellaty, Tiffany Godoy, Wayman Bannerman & Micah McDonald taking. The 2022 jury will be announced close to awards night.

FTA co-chairman, Qatar Museums and Doha Film Institute chairman H.E.
